Iran's first domestically manufactured oceangoing ship, dubbed Iran Arak, was delivered to the Islamic Republic of Iran shipping lines (IRISL) in a ceremony held on Monday evening. Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari attended the ceremony.
Iran Arak has received the quality certificate from the Germanischer Lloyd technical supervisory organization and is equipped with the world's most advanced navigation systems, Mohammad-Ali Vafaii told the Mehr News Agnecy.
The ocean liner is 185 meters long, 30 meters wide and has the capacity to carry up to 30,000 tons of cargo (2,200 containers).
