Photos: Memorial held in Kermanshah for Kianoosh Asa killed by Iran's security forces during June 2009 protests

A memorial was held in the city of Kermanshah on Tuesday to mark the anniversary death of for Kianoosh Asa who was killed by Iranian security forces in Tehran during the June 2009 post-election protests. Asa, a student at Tehran's Elm o Sanat University was injured and went missing on June 15 during a peaceful protest in Tehran. His family identified his body 10 days later. He was apparently killed by a gunshot to his neck.

The security officials prevented Asa's memorial from being held at Akhtar mosque as planned. So the venue was changed to the the house of Asa's brother. And despite all the pressures, and arrest of one of person, hundreds attended the memorial.

This program was also attended by several mothers of the martyrs of the green movement.

Also, reportedly several plainclothes threw paint on the grave of Kianoosh Asa Tuesday morning. This has angered the people of Kermanshah who have announced they'll gather at the gravesite of Asa on Thursday to honor him.
