The Tehran representative told Jahan website that he is disappointed that after such a long time the "dimensions" of this case have not been opened for the public.

On the night of June 14, 2009, two days after the controversial presidential elections, a number of Basij and plain clothes forces together with security forces entered Tehran University campus.

A film released by Persian BBC shows scores of students being beaten and humiliated by the attacking forces on this night.

Elias Naderan contends that the system has acted "appropriately and firmly" about this affair and he is therefore surprised that the public has not been informed about it.

The conservative member of the Parliament states that he was present at the University dorm on June 15 after hearing about the attack and maintained that "timely and firm confrontation with the elements of this file is one of the positive aspects of the post election events."

Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam, head of Iran Security Forces confirmed the authenticity of the film released by BBC and implicitly accused Basij forces of the attack.

Ahmadi Moghaddam told Soroush Monthly publication that the Security Forces entered the University at the request of the head of Tehran University. He added that " a number of plain clothes forces" had entered the University from the southern and western fences of the campus.

According to the security chief, after the president of Tehran University calls on them to enter the campus and take control of the situation, a special police unit enters the campus and arrests 90 people.

Student groups contend that in the attack on Tehran University at least five people were killed and hundreds of students were arrested and taken to unidentified locations. Islamic Republic authorities deny anyone being killed in this incident.

Ahmadi Moghaddam also recommends that to avoid a repetition of such incidents, a number of security forces should be deployed in the campus on a permanent basis.

After one year, no official government body has accepted responsibility for the attack on Tehran University campus.
