Report by: ISNA, Tehran

A group of Iranian professors and students held a gathering in front of the UN office in Tehran on Wednesday in a bid to show their wrath over the US President Barack Obama nuclear threat against Iran.

The protesters carried placards conveying mottos including "the US is the world's only atomic criminal", "God is Great", "Nuclear Energy for All, Nuclear Weapon for None", "Down with US" and "Down with Israel."

Also a parliament member Alireza Zakani taking part in the march criticized the UN for not taking measure over the US threats against Iran, saying, "based on NPT, all countries can possess peaceful nuclear energy, so why we should be deprived of our right."

The professors taking part in the protest march also recited a letter addressing Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi on Iranian human rights activist Shirin Ebadi's actions against Islam and Iran.

They also called for her prosecution, saying, "it is so surprising that Ebadi is cooperating with all counter-revolutionary groups abroad Iran and complains about Iran's situation instead of being accused."

They also set fire on a picture of Obama in front of the office.

The protesters issued a statement calling for the international community not to be silent over the illegal threats which go against the UN Charter, the UN Security Council resolution 984 and the international law.
