According to the latest report by the Central Bank of Iran, the nation's inflation in the Iranian calendar month of Mehr (September 23 - October 22) stood at 9.2 percent. The inflation rate has risen this month to 9.2 percent from 8.9 percent last month.
CBI Governor Mahmoud Bahmani had previously announced that the inflation rate would drop to 7 percent in Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) if the government's economic reform plan was not implemented.
The Ahmadinejad administration has devised an economic reform plan which calls for paying subsides for various products directly to people.
The plan has been prepared to reduce an excessive waste of the country's resources especially in using energy, and to ensure that low-income families pay fewer taxes.
It is believed that when the economic reform plan is put into effect the inflation rate in Iran will rise by over a minimum of 11 percent.
