The 17th annual festival of Iranian theatre in exile will be held once more in Koln with participation of Iranian and Afghan artists.
Radio Zamaneh reports that today, November 10, Majid
Falahzadeh and Behrokh Babayi, chief organizers of the festival, announced today
that the festival will take place on November 17 for four days. Ten theatre
groups will put on shows at the festival with some performances in Persian and
others in German.
The opening will take place on November 17 with an Afghan musical performance followed by "the Green Season", a piece in four acts by Aveesh ensemble.
Amongst the other shows listed are "Barefoot", "Naked", "A Heart in the Fist" and "Hosting Comedy."
The festival includes storytelling and screenplay readings as well as piano performances by Pejmon Akbarzadeh and Pooyan Azadeh which will be hosted by Radio Zamaneh's music expert, Dr. Mahmoud Khoshnam.
Majid Falahzadeh says "building bridges of communication between immigrants through theatre and dialogue" is the major objective of the festival.
The festival of Iranian theatre in exile was established in 1994 by Falahzadeh and Behrokh Babayi and has taken place annually every November in Koln.
