Nazanin Khosravani is being kept in solitary confinement in Evin's notorious ward 209, which is run by the Intelligence Ministry.
Khosravani's mother, Azam Afsharian, told Radio Farda she had been informed that visits to ward 209 are allowed only on Thursdays, but when she arrived to see her daughter on November 10 she was told that Khosravani is forbidden from receiving visitors.
Afsharian said she was told that she would be contacted "if her presence is required." Afsharian told Radio Farda that she was not allowed to give her daughter some warm clothes that she had brought for her.
"I was only able to persuade the guards to give her the money I had brought for her, for her emergency needs," she said.
Khosravani has only managed to contact her mother once, on November 8, in a phone call that lasted less than one minute. Before that Afsharian had not known for five days where her daughter was.
On November 3, security forces detained Nazanin Khosravani in Tehran after searching her home and confiscating her computer and personal belongings. Afsharian said security forces also came to their home the next day to search it a second time.
Khosravani used to work for reformist papers such as "Norouz" and "Bahar," but is currently unemployed.
