Iran snatches more medals in Asiad

Iran has snatched three gold medals at the 2010 Asian Games, bringing its total gold medals to 19 and standing on the fourth place.

Ahmadreza Talebian became first in men's kayak single 1000m sprint on Thursday. Silver went to Pan Yao of China, while Parol Aleksandr of Kyrgyzstan and Suzuki Yasuhiro of Japan took the bronze medals.

Reza Yazdani won Iran's gold medal in freestyle wrestling in the 96 kilogram category on the same day.

Iran's Fardin Masoumi won the bronze medal in freestyle wrestling in the 120 kilogram category.

In karate, Fatemeh Chalaki from Iran won the bronze title in under 55 kilogram category.

Sajjad Moradi won gold in the men's 800m. He clocked 1min 45.55sec, with Iraq's Adnan Taees Akkar taking silver (1:45.88) and Qatar's Musaab Bala claiming bronze.

Meanwhile, Shahou Naseri of Iran could also win silver in the men's canoe single 1000m. Uzbekistan and China snatched gold and bronze medals respectively.

Iran also managed to take a bronze in the men's kayak for 1000m. Uzbekistan received gold and Kazakhstan took silver.

Iran is placed fourth with a total of 53 medals, including 19 gold, 11 silver, and 23 bronze medals, behind China, South Korea and Japan.
