Islamic Republic authorities arrested senior members of the banned political party, Freedom Movement of Iran organization today.
Ebrahim Yazdi, former Iranian foreign minister and secretary-general of the
banned political organization, was arrested along with other senior members
while attending Friday prayers with what IRNA has described as "veteran Wahhabi
elements in Esfahan."
IRNA contends that the event was banned earlier but "Yazdi and Sabbaqian incited the Wahhabi elements with their presence."
Mizan Khabar, Freedom Movement's website, reported that the senior members of the organization were arrested while attending a mass prayer as part of a funeral.

The report adds: "The officials in plain clothes entered the premises without a
court order and claiming to be security and Basij forces announced that Dr. Ali
Asghar Qaravi has held an illegal prayer session at that location and thus
arrested the group."
The officials also went on to intimidate the other people and recorded their identities before leaving the premises, the report continues.
Ebrahim Yazdi was also arrested last December in connection with the post-election turmoil. He was later released on bail to undergo heart surgery.
IRNA writes that Ebrahim Yazdi has violated his signed commitment to refrain from political activitiy.
