Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, visiting Lebanon at an official invitation by his Lebanese counterpart Michel Sleiman, was warmly welcomed by a number of prominent Lebanese officials at Beirut International Airport on Wednesday morning. A large crowd of Lebanese people were cheering President Ahmadinejad and waving Iran's flags on his route to the Lebanese Presidential palace.
Iran, Lebanon stress unity against enemies' divisive measures
(ISNA) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Lebanese counterpart Michel Sleiman stressed keeping spirit of unity against enemies' divisive measures.

The two sides stressed keeping spirit of unity and solidarity against Zionist
regime and its sponsors and called for vigilance against enemies' divisive acts.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left for Lebanon on Wednesday morning for a two-day visit.
"Iran and Lebanon have shared interests and the current condition necessitates
that they stand by each other more," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Sleiman.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand bilateral relations through employment of all possible potentials."
"Iran has close relations with all Lebanese groups and it welcomes their unity whcih helps stability and security of Lebanon and the region."
Ahmadinejad then reiterated that all potentials should be used to confront acquisitiveness of Zionist regime and its sponsors.
Sleiman on his part said Lebanon seeks boosting ties with Iran and added that
Lebanese groups can overcome problems through keeping unity and solidarity.
He also called for expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Iran.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri taking part in the session called for expansion of bilateral economic ties.
Ahmadinejad was welcomed by Sleiman at presidential place.
Iranian President was accompanied by Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi, Chief of Staff Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei, Deputy Culture Minister Javad Shamaqdari, Head of Martyr Foundation Masoud Zaribafan, Vice President for Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Mohammad Reza Mir-Tajeddini and Chairman of the City Council of Tehran Mehdi Chamran.
