Iran's soccer team Zobahan has advanced to the final of the AFC Champions League after defeating Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia in the second leg of the semifinal.
In front of more than 68,000 Saudi fans at the King Fahd International Stadium on Wednesday, Zobahan's Brazilian striker Igor Castro scored the only goal of the game for the Iranian outfit in the 54th minute.
Castro pounced Mohammad Reza Khalatbari's cross from the right, bringing the ball down before swiveling and firing low past Al Hilal's goalkeeper Hasan al-Otaibi to silence the boisterous home crowd.
Zobahan had already defeated its Saudi rival 1-0 in the Iranian city of Isfahan in the first leg of the semifinal two weeks ago.
Following the match, Zobahan manager Mansour Ebrahimzadeh said his side is so determined to take part in the World's Champions League.
"We want to reach the World's Champions League and we do our best to reach that point," he said.
In the final, Zobahan will set up a clash against seven-time K-League champion Seongnam Ilhwa of South Korea in the Japanese city of Tokyo on November 13.
Seongnam avenged its 4-3 first leg defeat against Al Shabab from Saudi Arabia with its 1-0 victory.
