Saham news website reports that last night's attack was "a coordinated and organized operation" in support of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

The report maintains that the attackers have no fear of the security forces as they go about disturbing the peace and adds that they are "a group of military thugs affiliated with Shahid Mahallati Base." It goes on to add that they engaged in "throwing rocks and paint at Mehdi Karroubi's home, breaking the windows and stealing the security cameras."

Saham News reports that the attackers were "equipped with firearms as well as cold weapons in order to create fear and panic in public minds" and to stop Karroubi from participating in the Qods Day demonstrations.

Mehdi Karroubi has announced that he will participate in the Qods Day event which is fast approaching.

Yesterday, Fatemeh Karroubi, wife of the opposition leader issued an open letter to the supreme leader to criticize the attack on her family. She condemned the repeated attacks on her home and reminded Ayatollah Khamenei that his disagreements with her husband on political matters should not deprive her family from" the right to exist."

This is the fourth time in a row that the pro-government forces attack Karroubi's home in recent days.

However, the opposition leader has been the target of repeated attacks on numerous occasions in the past year following his dispute with the government over the alleged election fraud that brought Mahmoud Ahmadinejad back to another term at the presidency.
