Saham News website
reports that security forces have taken control of Mehid Karroubi's house after
circulation of a report that the opposition leader intends to lead a mass prayer
marking Eid Fetre.
Saham News also stressed that Mehdi Karroubi has no intention of leading such an
event and the circulated news is false.
Saham News reports that Mehdi Karroubi's son has also informed the security
forces that his father does not intend to lead such an event.
Last night, Mehdi Karroubi issued a
statement regarding the repeated attacks on his home in the past week.

The opposition leader maintained that these attacks were "an
organized" attempt at silencing the voice of opposition in Iran.
Mehdi Karroubi emphasized that he will not be silenced with such actions and
will continue on his path of resistance.
Mehdi Karroubi's home was swarmed by a pro-government mob for five days in row
last week and the attacks reached their apex on Friday, Qods Day, when Karroubi
had announced he would participate in the demonstrations of the day.

The attacks were condemned by several reformist figures and
international human rights groups who accused the government of orchestrating
the attacks.
However, the Revolutionary Guards issued a statement denying any involvement in
the attacks and attributing them to arbitrary forces.
Karroubi called the statement of the Revolutionary Guards absurd and asked "If
they were arbitrary forces, how come this great intelligence, security, judicial
and military force that contends to control the world was unable to identify and
punish them?"
