Iranian film "A Crime in Silence" directed by Behrouz Nouranipour scored the Best Documentary Award at16th Sole Luna International Film Festival in the Italian city of Palermo. The film manifests the destructive effects of war on people's lives.
The film is about a family living in an Iranian border village near Sardasht town in West Azerbaijan Province struck by chemical weapons during Iran-Iraq war.
Each child in the family loses his vision gradually after birth due to chemical effects of the bombardments, but the family's youngest child Abdolrahman fights to see.
Behrouz Nouranipour's film received different prizes for the Best Documentary Film in Iranian film festivals, Indian Jeypore Festival, Akbank Short Film Festival and also the Best Film Award for Sole Luna and Selezione Italian film festivals.
Sole Luna film festival is one of European festivals which is annually held in two story and documentary sections. Different countries including Italy, America, France, Canada, Australia, Spain, Ireland, Turkey, Poland and Switzerland took part in the event.
