Iran's youth volleyball team has advanced to the second round of the 2011 FIVB Men's Junior World Championship in Brazil with a victory over Belgium. The team's 3-1 victory over Belgium at the Caio Martins Hall in Niteroi propelled it to the second round of the games on Wednesday.

The Iranian junior squad claimed the first set 25-20 before forfeiting the second set 23-25.
Iran then clinched the two following sets 25-23 and 25-17 respectively to win the match and celebrate progression to the second round of the games.
Iran was in Pool D of the games with Serbia, Belgium and Canada.
In its two previous encounters in the first round Iran downed Canada in three straight sets on Monday and surrendered its Tuesday game against Serbia 3-2.
Serbian and Iran both secured a berth in top eight competition of the games with Serbia standing top of the group courtesy of its one-set superiority to Iran.
In the top eight competitions in the second round, Iran will now compete with the United States, Spain and Russia in Pool E.
Brazilian cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi are hosting the 16th edition of FIVB Volleyball Men's Junior World Championship 2011 from August 1 to 10, with 16 teams in attendance.
