The Commercial Deputy for The Islamic Republic of Iran's National Carpet Center said during the first quarter of this year $90.8 million Persian Carpets were exported abroad.

Ali Malekjou said with the transitions in carpet markets, during the starting 3 months of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 19) $9.8 million Persian Carpets were exported to countries abroad.
Malekjou foresaw better performance in the Iranian carpet exporting market during the first six months of the current year.
According to him, programs such as sending trade and economic delegations to China and other regional countries such as India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are among the future programs to support the export of Persian Carpets.
China, Brazil, South and Central Africa, along with neighboring countries are the most important markets for Iranian made Persian Carpets.
