TEHRAN, Aug. 14 (Mehr News Agency) - A number of students held a demonstration outside the British Embassy in Tehran on Sunday to denounce the police crackdown of protesters in Britain and to express support to the deprived people in the country.
The demonstrators held up photos of the protestors killed in clashes with the British police and chanted slogans against the British government.
The protestors also carried placards, some of which read: 'The Days of the Old Fox (Britain) are Numbered,' 'Human Rights against Human,' 'Down with the British Royal Regime,' 'Where is Human Rights?,' and 'Mr. Cameron: U.S. and Zionism or Your People? Choose One!'
The students also threw eggs at the embassy.
MP Mehdi Kouchakzadeh, who represents Tehran in the parliament, also attended the demonstration.
In addition, a statement was read out in both Persian and English at the end of the demonstration, in which the students condemned the use of violence against British protesters and called on the Iranian lawmakers to ratify the proposal calling for the severance of ties with Britain.
