Hassan Asadi Zeidabadi, member of the central council of the Alumni Association of Iran who had been arrested on August 22, 2010, was released on bail for a 48-hours-furlough on Sunday August 14, after spending 360 days behind bars.

The Islamic Court presided by Judge Moghiseh sentenced the Head of the Students Human Rights Committee at the Office of Strengthening Unity (Advare Tahkim-e Vahdat) to 5 years behind bars along with one million rials in fines.
According to Advar News, the charges against this student activist and human rights activist were "intent of threatening national security", "propaganda against the regime", "insulting the president" and "taking part in illegal gatherings."
Security agents had previously arrested Hasan Asadi Zeidabadi on November 3, 2009 and he was later released on bail. This member of the central council of the Alumni Association of Iran has been deprived of his right to furlough during the past year behind bars.
