Iranian snooker player Hossein Vafaei defeated Wales star Lee Walker in the final of the IBSF World Snooker Championship. Iranian snooker player played a shot during the IBSF World Snooker Championship in Bangalore on December 3.
The 17-year-old Iranian beat Walker 10-9 in the best of 19 frames final after a 10-hour battle to claim the championship in the Indian city of Bangalore.
The Iranian athlete outclassed opponents from Austria, India, Ireland, Scotland, Afghanistan, Russia, and Australia to reach the final.
The victory gives Vafaei a ticket for the professional tour next year.
The IBSF World Snooker Championship was held from November 27 to December 3 in India, with 85 snooker players from around the globe participating.
He participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China in the snooker singles competition and reached to last 16.
On September 2011, he received a wildcard to participate at the 2011 Shanghai Masters. But he could not advance to the first round as he was defeated against Fergal O'Brien from Ireland by the score of 1-5.
