Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani has said that the most recent United Nations resolution on the human rights situation in Iran is full of lies.
According to AP, the 193-member UN General Assembly, on December 19, approved a Canada-drafted resolution denouncing serious human rights violations in Iran ranging from flogging and amputations to frequent use of the death penalty.
Amoli Larijani said that international organizations have been taking measures against the Islamic Republic under pressure from the hegemonistic powers, but vigilant people will not fall for such measures.
"We expected all Muslim countries to adopt a stance against this resolution since the points mentioned (in the resolution) are not only against the Islamic Republic of Iran but also put principles and foundations of Islam into question," he stated.
