Explorer 4 (Kavoshgar 4) is a domestically-made scientific and research payload which is to be sent into space with the aim of transferring living creature and humanoid and getting access to the technology of designing, building and launching biological capsule and restoring the payload safely.

The explorer as well as some other satellites was unveiled on Monday in presence of Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Engineering versions of four home-made satellites Zafar (Victory), Rasad 1 (Observation1), Fajr (Dawn) and also engineering version of satellite carrier Safir (ambassador) 1B and the Kavoshgar 4 (Explorer 4) biological capsule were inaugurated.

"Fajr Satellite" is the first home-made satellite with capability of maneuver around orbit. This satellite uses a camera payload for mapping. The quality will make it the country's first indigenous sensing satellite.

The domestic satellite Zafar is a high tech, advanced and a completely operational one which is capable of taking colorful pictures with the distinguishing power from 80 meters.

Pictures taken by the satellite are completely practical and operational.

It is able to find gas and oil resources, identify coal mines, jungles and agricultural products as well as salty-marsh and contaminated environments.

"Rasad 1" satellite is the first photographer nano-satellite built domestically and is capable of taking pictures with better distinguishing power in the distance of 200 meters.

Testing process of the subsystems and the satellites has been done in the space laboratories of the country.

The management, design and manufacture of "Rasad 1" are the same as those of big remote sensing satellites and it is launched by domestic satellite carriers.

"Test-A" satellite weighs 80 kilogram which aims at designing, building, testing and delivering for launching micro satellites weighing about 80 kilogram and doing remote sensing studies of Iran's vegetation.
