Iran issued final verdict for the two Germans on Saturday. A branch of Iranian Islamic Revolution Court proclaimed the two Germans' sentence can be commuted under Islamic compassion.
The two European individuals were arrested following an illegal interview with son of an Iranian woman Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani who is sentenced to death due to killing her husband and adultery.
The sentence of the two Germans was changed to paying cash penalty.
They were first charged with involvement in crime against Iranian national security and sentenced to imprisonment for 20 months.
But their sentence was changed due to their special condition after it was proved that they were misused for goals related to crimes against Iranian national security.
Their 20-month jail term was changed with $50000 in cash penalty.
