Farhang Foundation announced in December that Nasrin Beyraghdar was the winner of its 2011 Nowruz Banner Contest.  The contest had invited the public to submit original designs for Farhang Foundation's annual Nowruz (Iranian New Year) celebration at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).  This year Nowruz at LACMA will be held on March 13, 2011.

It is with great delight that we unveil Nasrin Beyraghdar's design, which will be featured on Farhang Foundation's Nowruz light pole banners along the Wilshire Corridor, Westwood Boulevard, and other parts of Los Angeles, in anticipation of our 2011 Nowruz celebration.

Nasrin Beyraghdar is a graphic designer based in Southern California.  In reference to her design, she states, "The tile design is a reproduction of the tiles in my parents' home in Tehran. The fish is based on a dream that I had, symbolizing emergence of awareness and renewal for all."
