Iran's quarterly trade exceeds $23.7b, up 14.5%

Iran's global trade value amounted to $23.73 billion during the first three months of the current calendar year (ended June 21), up 14.5 percent year on year, Iran's Customs Administration Director Abbas Me'marnejad said in Tehran on Sunday.

ISNA quoted him as saying that Iran also exported 18.49 million tons of non-oil goods (including gas condensates), worth $10.1 billion, in the mentioned time span. In comparison to the same period previous year, the figures show 43.91 percent and 15.53 percent increase in terms of value and volume, respectively.

Some 8.182 million tons of goods, worth $13.7 billion, were also imported to Iran in the three-month period, marking 26.01 percent decrease in terms of weight and 0.4 percent growth in terms of value compared to the figures for the corresponding time span the previous year.

China, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, India, and Singapore were the main destinations for Iranian-made goods. China imported $1.34 billion of Iranian commodities in the mentioned period.

The United Arab Emirates, China, Germany, Korea, and Turkey were also the main exporters of goods to Iran.
