The turtles inhabiting Qeshm Island continue laying eggs till early May. The eggs are gathered and kept in a safe area in the village of Shib Deraz. Once the eggs hatch, the turtles are released into the sea.

Qeshm is an island situated in the Strait of Hormuz off the south coast of Iran and east of the Persian Gulf. Qeshm Island is located a few kilometers off the southern coast of Iran, opposite the port cities of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Khamir.
