Born in 1974 Mohammad Reza Amouzad grew up in the north Iranian city of Behshahr. From his early twenties Amouzad began working on Iranian calligraphy. He later went on to get a Master’s degree in graphic design and to develop his own unique style in which he weds traditional Iranian calligraphy with modern graphics.
This development won Amouzad many national prizes and a seat on the faculty of several Iranian art schools. Apart from painting Amouzad has done extensive work on decorating pulpits with verses from the holy Koran engraved in both wood and stone.
Mohammad Reza Amouzad is an artist devoted to his Iranian tradition and the modern trends developing in his country. He is presently living and working in Tehran.
