Iran's Mahram basketball team traveled to the Philippines to participate in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2011.
Mahram, which won back-to-back titles, has been drawn in Pool B along with Al-Riyadi from Lebanon, Qatar's Al-Rayyan Sports, Al-Jalaa Aleppo of Syria and Al Shabab of the UAE.
The Iranian team is scheduled to face Al-Jalaa Aleppo of Syria on Saturday.
Pool A consists of KL Dragons of Malaysia, Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, Smart Gilas of the Philippines, Duhok Sports Club of Iraq and Jordan's ASU Sports.
The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2011 will be held in Pasig, the Philippines from May 28 to June 5.
Iran actually won the last four editions of the events that began in 1981 in Hong Kong, with Sabah Battery of Tehran bagging the titles in 2007 and 2008, before Mahram did its share in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
