Several conservative figures spoke out against articles that were critical of forcing restrictive clothing rules on women. Some articles were also critical of deploying morality police on city streets.

Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jaffari Dowlatabadi charged Javanfekr with "hurting public mores and morality."
