Ostad Moein Metro Station Opens in Tehran

Each month a new subway station is opened in Tehran. This development had been promised by Tehran Municipality  as part of the rapid expansion of the subway. All parts of the capital city, from east to west and from north to south, are gradually being connected.


Tehran SAMA reported that Ostad Moein station along the fourth line of Tehran Metro was opened on Sunday by the Tehran's mayor Mohammde Bagher Qalibaf.

Mohammad Moin (July 12, 1914, Rasht, Iran - July 4, 1971, Tehran, Iran) was a prominent Iranian scholar of Persian literature and Iranian Studies.

Habil Darvishzadeh, managing director of Tehran Subway Company said the 4th line runs over 21 km from Shahid Kolahdouz square in the east to Ekbatan Township in the west with 19 stations. The new station has an area of 11,000 sq. m. and is located at the intersection of Azadi and Ostad Moein avenues.

He noted that 42 cars will be discharged from customs soon and 100 more are kept at the customs. Some 100 more cars are being carried to the country to cause a great change in Tehran subway and reduce waiting time.

The platform at the new station is 16 m long and 14 m wide. It is 22 m beneath the ground in 2 stories with 12 escalators and 4 elevators.
