The school at Chameh Ban village has been equipped with a modern heater, thanks to a report by Mehr News Agency reporter who brought to light the plight of the students at the village. However, it is not clear if other repairs are planned for the dilapidated school building that houses six young students, boys and girls.
The school building, constructed with mud and wood, is about 30 to 40 years old, but it looks more like 50. The building is in dire need of repair or better yet rebuilding.
While the children at Chameh Ban village have seen their wishes come true, there are many other children across Iran who attend schools with similar conditions, and whose stories will never be published to bring a change for them. One has to wonder why in an oil and gas rich country like Iran whose President promises land for villas for every family, why the authorities are in no rush to provide proper facilities for the children, unless they are embarrassed by reports highlighting their negligence?
