Funeral processions were held on Monday for 17 personnel of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps who were killed in two explosions at a munitions depot, about 40 kilometers southwest of Tehran. Major General Hassan Tehrani Moqaddam, the director of the IRGC Jihad Self-Sufficiency Organization, was among those martyred in the incident on Saturday. Moqaddam had been described as the "architect" of Iran's missile defenses.
The event was attended by the Supreme Leader, senior military officials, Majlis speaker, Judiciary chief, Supreme National Security Council secretary, Tehran mayor, intelligence minister, a number of other officials, and a large number of ordinary people.
