The Iranian national taekwondo squad has pocketed seven medals on the first day of the 4th British International Open.
Iranian coach Reza Mehmandoust told IRNA that Iranian taekwondo players won two golds, three silvers, and two bronze medals in the international taekwondo competition at Manchester Regional Arena on Saturday.
Hossein Tajik and Meysam Baqeri downed their rivals in the finals of the eighth and first weight divisions to win two gold medals for the Iranian team.
Kourosh Rajoli in the eighth weight category, Hadi Mosta'an in the second weight category, and Behnam Bayat in the fifth weight category won silver medals for the Iranian outfit.
Saeed Amiri and Farshad Foroughi won bronze medals in the second and fifth weight categories.
Over 50 taekwondo teams, including many world champions and Olympic medalists, are participating in this year's edition of the prestigious event.
