Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has taken full control of the main base of the Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) terrorist cell in northwest Iran, a top IRGC commander says.

Speaking to IRNA, Delavar Ranjbarzadeh said on Sunday that the IRGC forces have carried out a successful operation against the PJAK terrorist group and seized their main base, located in the Jasosan heights near the city of Sardasht.
IRGC forces took full control of the region on Sunday and are stationed there, he added.
The Iranian commander stated that military equipment belonging to the group has also been confiscated.
Ranjbarzadeh noted that no IRGC forces were killed or injured in the two-hour operation and said PJAK members immediately escaped from the area.
PJAK an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) -- listed as a terrorist organization by many countries and international bodies -- regularly engages in armed clashes with Iranian security personnel along the country's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.
The PJAK and PKK terrorists have received new weapons, including 120-millimeter mortars, and walkie-talkies from the US consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil.
On Sunday, Commander of Iran's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said the Islamic Republic will eradicate PJAK in the coming days.
"The PJAK terrorist group will be wiped out in the coming days and complete security will be restored to the borders," Pourdastan added.
