Iran's Minister of Economy and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini has set off for Washington to attend the semiannual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

Hosseini, leading a financial delegation, is scheduled to participate in the Group of 24 Ministers meeting on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings, IRNA reported.
The Iranian minister will also hold talks with his Indian, Iraqi, Pakistani and Chinese counterparts.
Meanwhile, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mahmoud Bahmani also left Tehran for Washington at the head of a high-ranking economic delegation to attend the autumn meetings of the IMF and World Bank.
Bahmani is expected to hold talks with senior officials of central banks of different countries on issues of mutual interest and on banking and economic cooperation.
The presence of banking and economic officials of countries in the IMF and World Bank meetings will prepare an appropriate opportunity for discussing ways to bolster cooperation.
