DOHA, Sept. 28 -- Iran's Sepahan has been eliminated from the AFC Champions League despite defeating Al Sadd of Qatar on Wednesday. The Iranian team beat Al Sadd 2-1 in the second leg of the AFC Champions League quarterfinal but lost 4-2 on aggregate.
Emad Reza and Hassan Ahjari scored for Sepahan in the 6th and 26th minutes and Niang pulled a goal back for the Qatari team in the 84th minute .
Sepahan had been found guilty of using an ineligible player against Al Sadd of Qatar in the first leg of AFC Champions League quarterfinals.
The disciplinary committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) awarded a 3-0 win to the Qatari club and imposed a $1,000 fine on Sepahan for the infraction.
