The Middle East Lecture Series presents a timely panel presentation titled “Targeting Iran: Sanctions and War.”
The panel presentation will take place on Thursday April 12, 2012, at 7 PM, on the campus of California State University, Fresno, in the Leon S. Peters Auditorium at the Student Recreation Center. The presentation is open and free to the public. It is sponsored by the Middle East Studies program at Fresno State and co-sponsored by the Fresno Art Museum, Women International League for Peace and Freedom, Fresno Center for Nonviolence, Peace Fresno, and the Reedley Peace Group.
Panel presenters include three internationally known expert scholars on Iran and US/Iran relations:
Raymond L. McGovern, retired CIA officer and political activist, will address “US Intelligence and Iran: The Bad and The Good.”
Dr. Sasan Fayazmanesh, Professor Emeritus of Economics at Fresno State, will speak on “US/Iran Relations: A Historical Perspective.”
Dr. Trita Parsi, President and co-founder of the National Iranian American Council, will expand on his recent book titled “A Single Roll of the Dice: Obama’s Diplomacy with Iran.”
The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Vida Samiian, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A period and book signing.
