Iranian art works to go under Christie's hammer

Christie's is set to auction 43 works by contemporary Iranian artists during its Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art sale in Dubai.

The auction will present 154 works from different countries including Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq and Emirates.

Ayman Baalbaki, Jewad Selim, Ahmed Alsoudani, Mohammad Ehsai, Parviz Tanavoli, Nasrollah Afjehei and Louay Kayyali are among the artists whose works will go under hammer.

Iranian artists Aidin Aghdashlou and Reza Derakhshani's artworks set records at the second session of Christie's 2011 auction in Dubai.

The 2011 Christie's auction, comprised of 198 lots, presented Middle Eastern paintings, sculptures and calligraphy works including creations by 57 Iranian artists such as Farhad Moshiri, Afshin Pirhashemi, Parviz Tanavoli and late sculptor Bahman Mohasses.

This year's art sale will be held on April 17 and 18, 2012, at the Emirates Towers Hotel.
