Majlis is set to impeach Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami on Sunday for naming former Tehran prosecutor general Saeed Mortazavi as the director of the Social Security Organization.
MPs had said Sheikholeslami could have avoided impeachment if he had fired Mortazavi who is partly responsible for the Kahrizak incident in which three imamates lost their lives.
Unconfirmed reports say that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is insisting that Mortazavi should stay in the job.

However, MP Elyas Naderan told the Mehr News Agency on Saturday that he does not think that Ahmadinejad will insist on keeping Mortazavi in the job when he hears issues surrounding the person in question.
Naderan said impeachers do not like to disclose Mortazavi's "weaknesses" in parliament "but if we are forced" we will disclose them on Sunday.
"In my opinion with regard to records that we will reveal of Mortazavi" it will be difficult for him to keep the job and "it is unlikely that a person with such a record can take up a post and "we were reluctant" to reveal anything about him in parliament.

Naderan said the MPs who signed the petition for impeachment did their best to persuade Mortazavi to resign and "if these moves do not bear results until tomorrow (Sunday) there will remain no option other than impeachment."
