In his speech, Rafsanjani also thanked President Ahmadinejad for attending the session and expressed hope that he will regularly participate in the meetings of the council.
Ahmadinejad had not attended the sessions of the council since three years ago.
In addition, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, presented a report of the negotiations that were held between Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) in Istanbul on April 14.
