Every Iranian produces 700 grams of garbage per day

The deputy director of the Iranian Department of Environment says according to a survey every Iranian citizen produces some 700 grams of garbage daily.

Ali-Mohammad Sha'eri tells the Mehr News Agency that an estimated 50,000 tons of trash is produced in the country every day of which something between 70 to 80 percent is disposed of hygienically but the rest is not.

Sha'eri added that by the end of the Iranian calendar year of 1392 (March 2014), the disposal of garbage in all cities should be done hygienically.
