Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says he is hoping for "success" in upcoming talks with world powers on the Iranian nuclear program.

The next round of talks between Iran and representatives of the powers -- Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States -- is due to be held on May 23 in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Salehi, speaking at a Tehran press conference alongside Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on April 29, described the last round of talks, earlier in April in Istanbul, as having achieved some success.

He said he hopes the Baghdad meeting will result in several more steps toward a resolution of the nuclear dispute.

The Istanbul talks marked the resumption of negotiations after a 15-month halt. Iran rejects Western allegations it is trying to build a nuclear weapon.
