OLYMPICS: Iranian Swimmer Bidarian fails to make 100-meter freestyle semis

Source: Tehran Times

LONDON - Iran's Mohammad Bidarian on Tuesday failed to qualify for the semifinals in 100-meter freestyle of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Bidarian swam 52.93 seconds and finished in sixth place. He could have qualified for the semifinals if he repeated his personal best time of 51.31 seconds.

"I had so many problems taking part in the Olympics. Three months ahead of the Olympics, my coach parted company with the Iranian swimming federation and I was forced to change coache," Bidarian said.

"The Olympic Games is a great event and the athlete is under a huge pressure. I could not even swim as I swam in the previous competitions. But it was a good experience and it will help in future," he added.
