Iran to build tubular centrifuge to use in pharmaceutical industry

Source: ISNA

Iran announced it will tackle the West sanctions by building a tubular centrifuge used in production of biotechnological medicine.

A senior official in the Health Ministry told ISNA on Tuesday that the primary sample unit of the tubular centrifuge to be used to purify proteins in the production line of biotechnological medicine will be prepared in three months.

Pasteur Institute of Iran is in charge of the project and different industrial and research organizations have cooperated, the official said and emphasized that the centrifuge is totally made by Iranian experts.

Iran has been using similar foreign centrifuges until now but under the west sanctions forbidding sales of centrifuges or their parts to the country most of them are now out of order or need repair and are not suitable for projects with advanced technology including vaccine production.

The device will be mass produced to be employed in the country's pharmaceutical industry after final approval of the primary sample.
