Jon Snow : Time to Rethink Iran

Posted by (source: Veterans News Now; reprinted with permission)

The United State’s Government is dominated by neoconservative Israeli-centric ideologues whose only acceptable “settlement” with Iran will be total immobilization, military, diplomatic, and economic disablement!

The end of Iran as a functional State, and oil producing or exporting nation.

Benjamin Franklin was famous for coming up with a pungent taste of Truth:

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner; Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the decision.”

I can’t help wondering, Ben might have had a US/ Israel/ Middle East Peace Conference in mind when he wrote that.

Jon Snow of Channel 4 News argues it is time for the US to lead a change in the relationship of it and the UK with Iran, in the Lord Garden Memorial Lecture at Chatham House on 21 June 2012.

Ironically, one of the poems gracing the entrance to the Hall of Nations of the UN building in New York is written by an Iranian:

“The children of Humanity are each other’s limbs.
That share an origin in their creator
When one limb passes its days in pain
The other limb cannot remain easy.
You who feel no pain at the suffering of others,
It is not fitting you be called Human”

‘A Doorway To Persia’

Made to educate, inform, inspire, motivate and enlighten those who seek more knowledge about the beautiful people of Iran. I am not an apologist for any government.

Sincere diplomatic dialogue has been recklessly abandoned and replaced with more economic sanctions and threats of war. As Dr. Martin Luther King so eloquently stated, “Today there is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence. It is either nonviolence or nonexistence.”

Please join me in demanding nonviolent solutions to conflict, and transparency and truth from governments and media. Help me share this message.
