Iran is establishing 27 transportation terminals at border locations with the goal of facilitating trade, an official with the Land Transportation Organization of Iran said.

On Tuesday, Reza Nafisi told the IRNA news agency that 10 border terminals have already been established and 17 other terminals will be set up by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2013).
A minimum of 200 billion rials ($16.3 million) is needed to establish each terminal, Nafisi noted.
The total value of Iran's imports and exports during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 2012- March 2013) amounted to $37.6 billion, the Customs Administration Director Abbas Memarnejad announced on Monday.
Iran exported around 30 million tons of non-oil goods, worth $15.7 billion, and imported some 15.7 million tons of goods, worth around $21.9 billion, in the five-month period (March 21-August 21), Memarnejad told the Fars News Agency.
He added that Iran exported around $43.7 billion worth of non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 2011- March 2012) and imported some $61.8 billion worth of goods, to hit the unprecedented mark of $105 billion in annual trade.
