On November 18th, the Hollywood Iranian Filmmakers Association (HIFA) had their launch party and red carpet event in West Hollywood, where they screened some of their members films.
Stylist Nazanin Safavi, actress and reporter Vida Ghaffari (The Mindy Pilot, Mind of Mencia, Circus of Dread), Miss Iran and Miss Exoti Lady Samira Kazemeni of Samira Gem Creations with Lousine Karibian, CEO and founder of the World Networks.
The films screened were Reza Riazi's "Going Very Badly", Piran Zarifian's "Freedom Fighter," Ana Lily Amirpour's "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night," Kataneh Vahdani's "Avocados," Nasar Abich's "The Forgotten Architect," and HIFA founder Will Raee's "Faith and Dreams" as well as several of Aristotle Athirias' shorts, "Indian Spiderman," "Dancing for Help," and the the Das Rascist music video "Girl." Trailers screened were Shervin Youssefian's "Crossroad," Esmaeel Mihandoust's "A Very Close Encounter," Youssef and Amir Delara's "Filly Brown", and Farnaz Samiinia's "Blood Moon." Both "Filly Brown" and "Avocados" had been screened at the renowned Sundance film festival, and "A Very Close Encounter" and "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night" had won awards at the acclaimed Noor film festival. "Blood Moon" also screened at that festival.

The Hollywood Iranian Filmmakers Association (HIFA) is designed to bring Iranian professionals who are working in the motion picture and television industries, as well as new media and journalism, to come together to help support, network, share and celebrate.
This event was graciously co-sponsored by HIFA member Siamak Ghahremani's prestigious Noor film festival.

Talented Reporter Farrah Assadi (ATV's From East to West) takes a night off of reporting to enjoy the screening and grace the red carpet.
Award-winning animated filmmaker Kataneh Vahdani Broscheit strike a pose on the red carpet. Her film Avocados, which recently screened at the acclaimed Sundance film festival screened at the event.
