Filmmakers from 71 countries have submitted 383 works to the 31st Fajr International Film Festival. The filmmakers have applied to participate in various sections of the event, festival secretary Mohammadreza Abbasian said in a press release on Thursday.

Filmmakers from Russia, Macedonia, France, Switzerland, Romania, Egypt, Japan, USA, Croatia, Argentina, and many other countries are among the applicants.

The secretariat of the festival has also received 272 submissions from Iranian filmmakers, he added.

"Fortunately, Iranian and foreign filmmakers are giving this edition of the festival a warm welcome," Abbasian said.

The Fajr International Film Festival, which is Iran's most important event in the motion picture industry, will be held from January 31 to February 10 in Tehran.
