The snow has finally arrived in the quake hit areas of Varzaghan and Ahar in Iran's northwestern province of East Azarbaijan. This only adds to the hardship of the quake victims who are still living in tents.

According to Alahverdi Dehghan, the Iranian MP for Varzaghan, as of mid-November only 15 percent of the necessary housing has been completed for the victims of the earthquake that struck the region last August, and 5,000 families are still facing the cold without adequate shelter.

Two deadly earthquakes struck Ahar, Varazaghan and Hereese in northwestern Iran in August, killing more than 300 people and injuring thousands more.
