Cafe Tehroon, a Persian website which organizes cultural tours in Tehran, has arranged a half-day tour for December 27 to familiarize visitors with some literary figures of the city.
The tour is part of a program for a one-day conference on literary tourism, which was held by the Tehran Municipality and the Tehran Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department on Saturday.
The first leg of the tour will be a visit to the parental home of eminent dramatist Hassan Moghaddam (1898-1925).
Iran's Noir Art Group will perform "Jafar Khan Returns from Abroad", a play written by Moghaddam in 1921, in that place. It is considered as one the first modern plays, which was written in Persian.
The Science History Museum (Negarestan) will be the second leg of the tour.
Chehrzad Bahar, the daughter of renowned Iranian poet and scholar Mohammad-Taqi Bahar (1884-1951), and his step-son Mohammad Golbon will read some poems by Bahar and will recount some of their memories at the museum.
The tour will end at Tehran's Zahiroddoleh Cemetery, in which several prominent contemporary poets including Forugh Farrokhzad, Mohammad-Taqi Bahar, and Iraj Mirza were laid to rest.
