Iran unveiled 6 new biotechnological medicines Sunday in presence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The products include two newly-built drugs and four ingredients required for producing medicines.
The drugs include Salmeterole to cure asthma, Riluzole to cure Amyotrophic lateral (ALS), Letrozole to curb Aromatize and breast cancer, Zoledronic acid to prevent Osteoporose, Botulinum toxin to cure skin desease and Antihemophilic Factor VII for coagulation.
The medicines with high quality and lower cost comparing to their foreign versions were produced by Iranian experts. Production of the drugs saves 68 million dollars annually.
Iran has recently achieved great medical breakthroughs and progresses despite sanctions imposed against the country over its refusal to halt peaceful uranium enrichment activities.
Iran insists its enrichment activities only aim at peaceful purposes for power generation and medical needs.
